Nottingham railway station toilets out of order due to drain collapse
by Joel Moore · NottinghamshireLiveA collapsed drain has forced the closure of toilets across Nottingham railway station. The loos across platforms one to six were all shut towards the end of last week, and the station's operators say they do not know when they will reopen.
East Midlands Railway apologised for the inconvenience, but said passengers could still use the toilets on the concourse near the main entrance and a temporary facility on platform seven while repairs take place. “Unfortunately, due to a collapsed drain, all the toilets on platforms 1–6 have had to close," said a spokesperson.
"We have installed temporary facilities on Platform 7 for customers while works to repair the damage takes place. We would like to apologise to all customers for the inconvenience caused by this matter.”
The spokesperson added the collapse happened "at the tail end of last week" and that the current impact is being assessed by Network Rail. Signs informing passengers of the issue have been placed around the station.
They read: "We are sorry that all public toilets are temporarily out of use due to drainage issues. Please use the toilets on the concourse or the temporary facilities on platform 7."
