“We have been thrilled to see the support from the community in terms of nominations as well as sponsorships,” chamber executive director Christine Jontz-Barbour says.

Two finalists in each of the 11 categories will be revealed on Wednesday, Nov. 13, building the anticipation for the big night. Tickets for the show are just $25 for Salmon Arm chamber members and $30 for non-members.

“All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend and help us celebrate the incredible businesses that are in Salmon Arm,” Jontz-Barbour says.

The festivities will get underway on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m., with guests walking the red carpet—yes, an actual red carpet—before mingling and networking inside. The pre-party will feature music from The In Between band, delicious charcuterie from The Cahoots Kitchen and a cash bar sponsored by Setters Neighbourhood Pub.

The awards show will begin at 7 o’clock. Each award sponsor will take to the stage and share a little information about its business before announcing the winner.

The 12 awards up for grabs are:
• Community Spirit
• Member of the Year
• Salmon Arm Business of the Year
• Non-Profit Organization of the Year
• Hospitality Business of the Year
• Retail Business of the Year
• Trades Business of the Year
• Tech and Manufacturing Business of the Year
• Professional Services Business of the Year
• Recreation Services/Entertainment Business of the Year
• Health and Wellness Business of the Year
• Personal Service Industry Business of the Year

Three sponsorships are still available, including two for individual awards and the other as a silver sponsor. Interested businesses are encouraged to reach out to Jontz-Barbour here for more details.

“We are really excited for the community to support and get out there and really shine the light on these businesses,” Jontz-Barbour says. “Salmon Arm is such an amazing community and has so many incredible locally owned businesses, and we just want to make sure that they’re getting recognized for it.”
