DRAM capacity to expand 25% next year
by David Manners · Electronics Weekly.comDRAM bit output will rise 25% YoY in 2025 says TrendForce. Without Chinese expansion it would be 21%, but China’s capacity is mainly for the domestic market.
In addition to PC, server, mobile, graphics, and consumer DRAM, HBM has been added to the product mix. Excluding HBM, conventional DRAM bit output would increase by only 20% in 2025.
If HBM and Chinese capacity are excluded, the bit output from the three major DRAM manufacturers will grow by only 15%.
HBM supply—particularly HBM3e—is anticipated to remain tight throughout next year.
