Aim is to have one entrepreneur in each family, GSDP of $2.4 trillion by 2047, says Chandrababu Naidu at launch of Swarna Andhra Vision Document
The government aims to increase the per capita income from below $3,000 to over $42,000 by 2047, says the Chief Minister, adding that the goal is to build a “wealthy, healthy, and happy society”
by G.V.R. Subba Rao · The HinduFrom envisioning one IT employee in every family back in the 1990s, the TDP government now aims to have one entrepreneur in every family by 2047, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said at the unveiling of the ‘Swarna Andhra @2047 Vision Document’ here on Friday.
The Vision Document is aimed at transforming Andhra Pradesh and ensuring that the global Telugu community is at the forefront by the year 2047.
Explaining the goals and objectives of the Vision Document, Mr. Naidu asserted that the government aims to achieve a $2.4 trillion Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) by 2047. The present per capita income stands at below $3,000, and the government aims to take it to $42,000 by 2047, he said.
“The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government in the 1990s had envisioned having one IT employee from each family at the time of releasing the Vision 2020 Document. The subsequent reforms led to desired results in the IT sector. Now, my goal is to have ‘One family, one entrepreneur’ in Andhra Pradesh by 2047. It is my ‘sankalpam’ (solemn pledge) to see that every family has an entrepreneur. Think globally, act globally. We need to move forward towards a knowledge society,” he said.
The vision document focuses on decentralising power and development. Under this initiative, 175 industrial parks will be established across the State, creating employment opportunities for 5,00,000 people. The government aims to ensure that industries involve local farmers as stakeholders. Additionally, the creation of a knowledge society and a focus on sustainable, inclusive development are central to this vision.
Assuring the farmers of doing justice with the new ‘Agritech’ system, the Chief Minister said farmers will be partners in the industries wherever they are set up. Observing that his government aims to promote clean energy, Mr. Naidu said that the government plans to transform Andhra Pradesh into a green hydrogen energy hub.
Referring to water disputes between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Mr. Naidu expressed the view that the inter-linking of rivers was the only solution. Citing the success of the Pattiseema river-linking project and the government’s plans for interlinking rivers to prevent droughts, he reiterated the importance of water security.
“The goal of Vision 2047 is to build a wealthy, healthy, and happy society. TDP founder president and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao’s legacy of bringing recognition to the Telugu community serves as an inspiration for tackling poverty through policies focused on people, public-private partnerships, and inclusive economic growth,” Mr. Naidu said.
The Chief Minister called on the people of the State to actively participate in the realisation of Swarna Andhra-2047. Every citizen has to contribute towards the success of this vision. ‘Andhra Valley’ would become a success story of the future, with economic growth and progress benefiting all, he added.
