1,073 tonnes of urea in stock in Ramanathapuram for Samba season: Collector

Ramanathapuram district has got 1073.25 tonnes of urea in stock to cater to the farming needs of Samba season.

In a statement, Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon said that 958.5 tonnes of urea from Manali and 114.75 tonnes of KRIBHCO urea had arrived the district through Madurai.

While 283.5 tonnes of urea has been allocated to the primary agriculture cooperative credit societies, 798.75 tonnes has been given to private shops. The Collector has advised the societies and the private fertilizer shops to sell urea and other fertilizers at the maximum retail price. Those shops found violating and selling the fertilizer over and above the MRP would face cancellation of shop licence.

The price for 45 kg bag of urea of all companies is ₹266.50.

Each bag of 50 kg DAP of all companies is ₹1,350. The price of other fertilizers (per 50 kg bag) is as follows: FACT 20:20:0:13 ₹1,225 IFFCO 20:20:0:13 is ₹1,200; KRIBHCO 20:20:0:13 is ₹1,200; GFL 20:20:0:13 is ₹1,1350.

The price of other fertilizers (50 kg) is KRIBHCO 10:26:26 is ₹1,470; IPL 16:16:16 is ₹1,375; IPL Pottash is ₹1,500 and FACT Ammonium Sulphate is ₹925.

The Collector has instructed the fertilizer shops and societies to put up boards specifying the price list for the benefit of the farmers.

The farmers should be compulsorily issued receipts for the fertilizers sold.

The statement said that block-level teams have been set up to monitor that the fertilizers were sold at the right price.

Farmers can lodge complaints, if any, with the block-level fertilizer inspectors and Agricultural Officers.
