Hacksthons inspire young minds said IT minister P. Thiagarajan
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduA two-day Smart India hackathon was organised at Sairam Engineering College. The prizes to winners were presented on Thursday by the IT and digital services minister P. Thiagarajan.
“Platforms like the Smart India Hackathon play a vital role in driving technological progress and inspiring innovation among the youth,” he said, expressing amazement at the ingenuity and dedication of the participants’ practical solutions to pressing, real-world problems.
The Union government’s Ministry of Information Technology provided three problem statements and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, provided one for the competitions held at Sairam institutions. One team presented innovative solutions.
The winner for the MoHFW problem on drug inventory and supply chain tracking system (SIH1627) was Team MediNexus from Delhi Technological University. The IT Ministry problem statements had winners in each category. Team Medisure from Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Engineering, Maharashtra won for its online testing and monitoring of quality of medicines and consumables.
Team Digital Dockets from Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering and Research, Maharashtra won the prize for its Online issuance of caste and other certificates by Revenue Department with real-time monitoring and evaluation software for applications in the Fire Department was won by Team Agrani from Sardar Vallabhai National Institute of Technology, Gujarat.
Each winning team received ₹1 lakh, besides participation certificates.
Sai Prakash Leo Muthu, Chairman of Sairam Institutions, emphasised the role of such platforms in fostering innovation and nurturing future leaders.
