As a part of the nation-wide demonstration by the Communist parties, the agitation was held in Aranmanai here in which leaders from various labour outfits and other associations participated.

He said that the GST imposed on farm equipment should be dropped. Likewise, the subsidy component for seeds and fertiliser to the farm sector should be enhanced. The goods produced by the farmers should be priced based on the MS Swaminathan recommendations.

The labour laws which have been compressed into four categories from as many as 44 laws, should be immediately dropped in the larger interest of the work force.
