The Telangana Government has announced an interim relief of 5% on basic pay to regular employees of public sector undertakings, co-operative societies, staff of societies and non-teaching staff of universities on a par with government employees.
The interim relief would be applicable for employees of the institutions that adopted the government’s revised pay scales in 2020. It would be applicable for pensioners (non-teaching staff) of universities, co-operative institutions and societies that draw salaries or pensions as per revised pay scales.
“No deviations shall be made to increase the relief while adopting extension of interim relief. However, a lower rate may be adopted based on the financial viability,” Finance Special Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao said in the order issued on Friday.
The interim relief should be adopted only when the dearness allowance and other allowances were being paid on a par with those being paid by the government as per its formula. The financial commitment in adopting it should be met by internal resources without any budgetary support and increase in managerial subsidies and government grant.
In respect of State-level public enterprises and cooperatives, the adopted order on interim relief should not lead to incurring losses by the public enterprises, the order said.
