Debenhams reduces 'luxury' £70 fleece throw to £18 - and it looks a lot more expensive

by · Manchester Evening News

One of the best things about the autumn and winter months is getting cosy on the sofa with absolutely zero guilt. If you’re struggling to hit the comfort levels you’re craving, Debenhams has got you covered with an incredible Black Friday discount.

The Snugg Soft Blackbrook Throw in mustard from the Lyndon Company is just £18.27, down from £70. Available in six colours (at slightly different prices), there’s a style of this 125x150cm throw to match any room.

These luxuriously soft throws are a fantastic accompaniment to any movie night on the sofa, or to keep a loved one tucked-in if they come down with the latest and greatest common cold. Machine-washable and complete with a sherpa fleece reverse side, this throw would make a great addition to any living space, as well as being an ideal Christmas gift for anyone who likes to get comfortable on a chilly evening.

At Debenhams there’s currently only one review, but it’s a five-star one: “Really great quality throw at a reasonable price for Christmas gifting.” Debenhams itself currently has a 3.3/5 average rating on TrustPilot.

“Fantastic online shop! Probably my favourite in the UK. So many options including quick (paid) 1-2 day delivery,” said one five-star review.

Another praised the quality of the customer service: “A recent order got delayed. I asked for help from customer services and it was very swiftly looked into. The item had got lost and they immediately offered me a refund or replacing the items with the next day delivery paid for. I opted for a replacement and they have now arrived. Quickly and efficiently sorted out.”

Most negative reviews refer to the £1.99 returns fee. “I had to return the item and followed the instructions on the returns policy, but I had to chase the refund and was charged £1.99 for the privilege. That is probably in the returns policy, but could have been waivered noting the hassle I had in chasing the refund.”

Another concurred: “I returned the item using a "free" return service, which was later deducted from my refund amount. This was hidden deep in the terms and conditions, as opposed to making the key message absolutely clear in an easy to access way for customers.”

There are some interesting alternatives out there, such as this heated zip-up throw for £28.99 at Wowcher. For something more Christmas-themed, check out this £19.99 option at TK Maxx.
