Martin Lewis-inspired buy that keeps you warm without central heating slashed to £15

by · Manchester Evening News

The freezing temperatures have arrived, leaving households struggling to keep warm without racking up huge energy bills.

With the cost of central heating on the rise, it's understandable there's a rush to find products that can you toasty without having to reach for the thermostat.

One item that has seen a spike in interest is the heated hoodie and it's been reduced to its lowest price yet for Black Friday.

Slashed from £33 to £15, it has built-in panels that heat up thanks to a power bank placed inside the front pocket.

Any power bank will do the job as it uses a basic USB connection and it means that once you've spent £15 on the hoodie itself, it costs very little to run as a full power bank charge lasts for hours.

Following the advice of Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis to 'heat the human, not the home', it's an ideal way to keep your body temperature up and it does an amazing job.

As well as trying out the blush pink one from Worsley-based Online Home Shop, we also tried out the extra long charcoal one, which is the same price and adds an extra layer of warmth to your legs and is perfect for when you're just relaxing on the couch.

If you don't already have a power bank, these are also on the website, reduced from £18 to £14.

They cost just pennies to charge and a fully charged one is enough to see me through the whole day while working from home and sitting at my desk.

As soon as it's plugged in you begin to feel the elements heating up inside it and there are heated pads all over this thing - on the shoulders, at the lower back and behind the front pocket.

There are three heat settings to choose from too. You just press the power button on the front pocket to change it from the lowest 'green' temperature, to medium 'blue' up to the highest 'red'.

If you get too warm, you can just use the hoodie on its own without any heat setting at all. And the Sherpa lining of the 'one size fits all' hoodie means it's super cosy even without the heat switched on.

There are other colours available in the shorter style, including charcoal, navy and black, and a grey one with a heart print design, all reduced to £15. Standard UK delivery is £3.95.
