An experts has said there are some easy swaps people can make to cut down on their energy bills. Llewellyn Kinch, CEO and co-founder of MakeMyHouseGreen has said people should be looking for alternative ways to cook as some cost more than others.

Llewellyn said: "The An average domestic electric cooker oven typically uses 2000 – 3000 watts per hour. If your oven only uses 2000 watts per hour (2 kWh) and you use it for one hour at a cost of £0.29 per kWh, your calculation will be: 2 kWh × £0.29 × 1 hour = £0.58 per hour.

"Most families use their cooker every day in winter. An Christmas turkey can take six hours to oven-cook. Swap your traditional oven for the increasingly popular air-fryer, using around 1 kWh. This can halve your oven cooking energy bills."

Ditching your oven to cook for certain meals could help you keep your bills to a minimum and Llewellyn said you could also do this by air drying clothes rather than the tumble dryer, using a dustpan and brush when you can instead of the vacuum and boiling water on the stove top rather than a kettle. While some swaps are easier than others, what is the best air fryer on the market?

This year, Instant Vortex Plus 6-in-1 tested a number of air fryers and they recommend two Ninja appliances, the Ninja Foodi MAX Health Grill & Air Fryer 5.7L (£190.94 on Amazon or the Ninja website) and the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone AF300UK found for £119 at ao.com.

Both are marked as 'best buys' from Which? and they say the big price tag on the MAX Health Grill & Air Fryer is worth the money due to its functionality. The six in one appliance promises to grill, bake and roast while also claiming to be easy to clean.
