Carnival Cruise Director shows off new onboard activities

by · The Fresno Bee

Cruise Directors act as the visible leader of your cruise. On Carnival Cruise Line, that's a very lively role that begins early in the morning with announcements and daily television shows, which continue through the evening theater performances.

On many cruise lines, you may see the Cruise Director and will certainly hear them over the public address system, but they're not expected to be showmen in their own right. That's not the case for Carnival Cruise Line Cruise Directors.

They tell jokes, maybe sing a little, and serve as part of the entertainment onboard. It's a grueling job that leaves little room for sleep, but the people who do it well become legends in the Carnival cruising community.

It's not unheard for passengers to pick a cruise because of the Cruise Director or follow a favorite from ship to ship.Kyndall "Fire" Magyar has become well-known to Carnival cruisers and on Instagram, where she shares videos on what her life is like as a Carnival Cruise Director on a daily basis.

Her latest post shows her having a busy evening while offering a sneak peak at some new Carnival onboard shows and activities.

Transcript:

Y'all come along with me for another day in the life of a cruise director. Tonight is family game night and Lone Star Tailgate here on the Jubilee. So I get ready, pack a bag because I've got to do some quick changes, then I head on down to our officer's mess to get some dinner.

Tonight I was dining with the chief engineer as well as staff chief and the entertainment director. We've got our own little salad bar as well as some options that we get to order and then after I had some dinner I headed backstage to start "What's Age Got to Do With It."

I had my two Fun Squad members there helping me out, Miss Lilia as well as Steph, and, of course ,as you can see, everyone in the audience was getting ready to rock and roll.

We had four fantastic families up on stage for a larger than life game show where we find out if adults really do always have the right answers.

After a quick change, I head on over to center stage, where we have our "Lone Star Tailgate" fully underway. We've got some hot wing eating competition, some fun and games and then our Playlist cast was getting ready to take to the stage for their halftime show performance.

It is always an absolute treasure so do not miss out on it when you're here on board as well as our brand new line dancing class where I'm going to teach you guys some new line dances and some of those old classics as well as some new ones so don't miss out on that.

After the line dances our Backyard Band takes the stage with Texas Tribute Live a chance for us to put those line dances to use to all sorts of different songs and all sorts of different genres but all featuring artists that originally came from Texas and as you can see it was a fan favorite.
