Large scale equine facility being planned near Kildare town

A large-scale equine facility is being planned for the Dunmurry area of Kildare. 

Being planned is the demolition of an existing unroofed derelict building in ruins with materials to be reused as part of the new development.
Being proposed is the construction of a new single-storey stable block with a two-storey element that will cater for 16 stable units, staff canteen, offices, a viewing area, toilet facilities and car parking areas.
A new equine barn is planned with 20 horse stalls and ancillary rooms.
Other proposed facilities include: 

  • staff accommodation in the form of three single storey terraced units with associated car parking areas 
  • A farm managers house 
  • A single storey isolation stable block
  • An agricultural shed providing a covered paddock area 
  • A horse walker and horse lunging ring
  • A  machinery shed and an agricultural shed for hay storage with manure pit 
  • A horse loading bay and wash bay area
  • Installation of a new well 
  • Internal access roads, landscaping, lighting.
