Homebase closing three West Midlands stores before Christmas
by Jordan Coussins, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/jordan-coussins/ · Birmingham LiveAs many as three Homebase stores are set to be lost from the West Midlands forever in a matter of days. BirminghamLive has already reported how the Sutton Coldfield store is set to be axed - only to return as a Sainsbury's.
It is not the only one set for that fate - three Homebase stores in the West Midlands are due to close within days as part of wider cutbacks. It comes amid another tough year for many of Britain's beloved retail brands.
High street staples such as Ted Baker were wiped out due to financial difficulties and weak customer demand. The full list can be found below. Last month, The Range saved up to 70 Homebase stores after it went under.

Around 49 Homebase stores still remain at risk of closure.
Elsewhere, garden retailer Dobbies will close 12 of its sites before Christmas. Among them is one in Stratford-on-Avon.
