Octopus handing energy customers free £100 cash boost from Monday

Octopus Energy is handing energy customers a free £100 cash boost as part of its own Black Friday scheme, called Pink Friday. The energy firm, which is rivalled by OVO, EDF, EON Next and British Gas, has announced the scheme for customers ahead of next Friday's shopping extravaganza.

As part of the savings, customers can get £100 off heat pumps - 20 per cent of the average cost, which is £500. Offers include free Christmas movie codes, popcorn from Co-op, adorable Octopus plushies and discounts on energy-efficient products.

Exclusive rewards can be accessed through ‘Octoplus’, one of the largest non-retail loyalty schemes in the UK. The exclusive offers will be released regularly throughout the week and will be available on a first come, first serve basis through the Octopus app.

This year’s ‘Pink Friday’ deals include: Rakuten codes for streaming festive films with friends and family, free bags of popcorn, free Octopus plushies, 25% off at the merch store, a free Greggs Breakfast roll deal, 10% off solar systems and 20% off heat pumps from Octopus Energy.

Spend less on Black Friday by saving with our Pink Friday experiences, treats and discounts – all completely free!” To join ‘Octoplus’, customers must receive electricity from Octopus Energy, have a functioning electricity smart meter that provides half-hourly readings and pay via Direct Debit. Business customers and smart prepayment customers can also join ‘Octoplus’.

Customers can sign up through the banner in their online accounts or app. Points and Pink Friday codes can be easily redeemed in the ‘Octoplus’ section of the app or dashboard, where users can view available offers and check their ‘Octopoints’ balance.

Customers can then use the provided code in-store or online to unlock exclusive benefits. Pink Friday begins November 25.
