Tamkeen joins AWS at Gateway Gulf 2024 to upskill Bahraini talent with AI - Mubasher Info

Mubasher: Bahrain’s Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) during their participation at the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum 2024 to launch a national programme aimed at developing and empowering Bahraini talent in AI skills.

The programme will equip Bahraini nationals to become professional AI generalists, specialists, and startup founders. This is besides knowledge exchange on AWS’s best practices in cloud computing, machine learning, and AI.

Tamkeen and AWS will jointly provide the opportunity for Bahrainis to obtain three main qualifications related to generative AI, implementing machine learning technologies in production and operations, and utilising technology to address different business challenges.

The agreement came as part of the two entities’ participation in the second edition of the forum, which concluded on 5 November and was hosted by Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) under the theme of ‘Investing in a Rapidly Transforming Region’. The event attracted international participation from top government officials, business leaders, and executives.

Tamkeen Chief Executive Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez stressed the fund’s commitment to enhancing programmes and initiatives to train and develop national talent across different areas, namely in the fields that utilise the latest tech advancements.
