Kate Beckinsale accuses stress-relief guru of sexual assault

by · Mail Online

An actress has accused her stress-relief guru of sexual assault after the pair locked horns online over unpaid therapy bill.

Kate Beckinsale, 51, has filed a report with the LA police department accusing Nick Abramovic of 'sexual assault and battery' during an appointment at Bionic Method on August 7.

This comes after the pair were in a public spat over an unpaid £2250 for three sessions over a two-week period in August, as revealed by the Mail on Sunday.

On his spa's website, Mr Abramovic describes his method as being 'a massage that's more than just physical relief' designed 'to release emotional and energetic blockages'.

Mr Abramovic strongly denies the claims and no charges have been filed.

But Mr Abramovic argues that Ms Beckinsale never intended to pay him for her treatment

Speaking to the New York Post Mr Abramovic said: 'I just want to be clear: I did not assault her at all. I categorically deny these allegations. In the five years since I've run Bionic, I have never had this type of complaint from any individual that I have treated.

'Over the years, I have treated hundreds of women without incident. I'm not trying to defame Kate at all. It's weird to me that this is happening. I'd like to think this is just a misunderstanding.'

While the Pearl Harbor actress has been very public on her Instagram about the experience, in one post she uploaded an image which read: 'Boys will be held accountable for their f*****g actions', as she tagged @survivorsofsexualassault.

In another she posted an image which said: '60 per cent of sexual assaults' are NOT REPORTED to the police,' and tagged @sexual.assault.aware.ness.

Ms Beckinsale also screenshotted Yelp reviews from previous clients of Mr Abramovic which claimed he 'targeted female clients' and that 'something felt immediately off and weird' when they arrived at his 'creepy building'.

Speaking about his services, Mr Abramovic said: 'No one is getting naked, no one is getting undressed, there's no oils.

'I will touch people in non-invasive points, it's all external. I'm not rubbing my hands up and down. It is very much a stretch therapy, sound therapy and breath-work. It's very above board.'

But Mr Abramovic argues that Ms Beckinsale never intended to pay him for her treatment, writing on his Instagram: 'Over a two-week period Kate Beckinsale scheduled $2,700 worth of sessions with me, promising to pay us later.

'But after her last session she completely ghosted us.'

The healer claims that he was served with a legal notice informing him of the criminal allegations only after he blasted Ms Beckinsale publicly on his social media.

Mr Abramovic's attorney George Shohet said: 'We're looking into a defamation case as this appears to be a retaliatory act after Mr. Abramovic demanded payment from Ms. Beckinsale'

He claimed this meant the non-disclosure agreement they had to keep their business private 'is no longer legally binding' so was 'considering other options'.

He also alleges he offered to leave a camera on during their first session on August 2, as he says clients often like to watch the recording back to reflect on their experience.

However, he said Ms Beckinsale, who was dressed in yoga pants and a gym shirt, declined citing privacy reasons. Ms Beckinsale denies this was ever offered to her.

Beckinsale's attorney, Marty Singer, adds in response: 'I believe it is clear that the claim that my client fabricated a police report to avoid paying money is a malicious, false and defamatory statement.

'The belief that my client would file a false police report and wind up having to pay more money for my legal services than pay this person is the most ridiculous concept I've ever heard in my career as an attorney.'

Mr Singer added: 'He did not ever offer to record the session. That statement is not truthful.'
