'Ghost wolf' is spotted streaking across woods by trail cam

A Washington hunter has shared eerie footage of a 'ghost wolf' streaking across a trail camera in the woods.

Marco McDewey captured the strange phenomenon in the deserted forests of Newport.

The video shows spooked deer appearing to react as a white mist flashes across the camera.

’I'm thinking it’s a wolf spirit guarding my property,' McDewey told local news station KHQ.

The footage shows three deer grazing in the woods who suddenly look up from the ground. 

As they raise their heads, a white haze appears on the left hand side of the screen.

It drifts into the foreground of the frame with the deer's ears twitching as it passes.

The animals all appear to track the 'specter', watching with their eyes following as it disappears.

The video has left viewers equally spooked and offering their own theories as to what it might be.

'Yeah, definitely weird,' one person wrote under the YouTube video.

'Oh how eerie. But so cool,' another added.

'I agree, it looks like a wolf spirit to me. You can clearly see a canine,' one viewer agreed.

'They didn't run so it's probably something from last year's hunting season,' another joked.
