Why is Jana Sena chief silent on Dwarampudi?

When the YSR Congress party was in power, Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan and his party leaders used to target former Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, making serious allegations against him on illegal transport of PDS rice from Kakinada port.

Dwarampudi, too, used to counter these allegations and make abusive comments against Pawan Kalyan and the Jana Sena Party leaders.

In fact, Kapu strongman and former MP Mudragada Padmanabha Reddy, too, was attacking the Jana Sena leaders and defending Dwarampudi.

After the Telugu Desam Party-Jana Sena-BJP combine came to power in June this year, the Jana Sena leaders continued their attack on Dwarampudi.

Senior Jana Sena leader Nadendla Manohar, who took over as civil supplies minister, focussed on Dwarapudi’s illegal rice transport activities.

Nadendla charged that Dwarapudi was involved in rice export scam that runs into hundreds of crores and announced that the state government would order a CID investigation into the scam. He even ordered seizure of huge stocks of PDS rice allegedly belonging to the YSRCP leader.

After creating a big buzz initially, Pawan Kalyan and Nadendla had suddenly gone silent on the rice export scam.

The CID probe into the scam has never materialised and nor was any further development on the seizure of illegally stored rice stocks.

This has led to a hush talk in the state political circles that the Jana Sena leaders had come to a secret understanding with Dwarampudi after receiving kickbacks from him. There are allegations that Pawan Kalyan and Nadendla have joined hands with Dwarampudi.

Interestingly, Dwarampudi, too, has gone into a silent mode and has not been making any criticism of the Jana Sena or Pawan Kalyan for quite some time. He has also not been seen actively involved in the YSRCP activities.

Certainly, something fishy in this whole episode!
