Is Allu Arjun Unable To Beat Jr NTR In USA?
by Venkat · greatandhra.comThe advance sales for two of the most anticipated Indian films, Devara and Pushpa 2: The Rule, in the USA have become a hot topic of discussion.
With just 15 days to go until their respective premieres, the sales figures reveal intriguing trends that have sparked debate among fans and industry observers.
Devara, featuring Jr. NTR, has amassed $1,040,292 in premiere advance sales across 408 locations, 1,197 shows, and 35,016 tickets sold. With total North America sales standing at $1.12 million, major centers are reportedly at full capacity, prompting the addition of more shows to meet the growing demand.
On the other hand, Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, has garnered $1,021,736 in advance sales across a staggering 871 locations and 3,301 shows, selling 36,885 tickets. Despite its extensive reach and immense pre-release buzz, the total North America sales are slightly lower at $1.055 million.
This suggests that Allu Arjun is unable to pull in significant collections in North America despite the big hype surrounding the film. In fact, Devara is also a pan-India film but does not compare to Pushpa 2 in terms of the hype generated.
With almost double the locations and nearly triple the shows allocated for Pushpa 2 compared to Devara, the collections were expected to be at least double.
However, this indicates that many screens and shows remain underbooked for Pushpa 2. The producers in India might need to focus on identifying and addressing the underlying issues.
It should be noted that the distributor is the same for both films, and both films opened advance bookings almost a month prior to their release.
