November Box Office: Lessons To Be Learned
by Venkat · greatandhra.comNovember has often been seen as a slow month for movie releases, with big films typically avoiding it. No major November release has achieved significant collections.
Whether the movie is good or not, it’s disappointing when a film fails to sell out opening day tickets. Many theaters have even canceled shows in several centers.
Nikhil, known for blockbuster like 'Karthikeya 2' has come up with 'Appudo Ippudo Eppudo'. Lakshmi Manchu came up with 'Adiparvam'. The shocking fact is that not many know about the arrival of these films at all.
The same applies to films like Dhoom Dham, Jithender Reddy, and Rahasyamidham Jagath. The audience bluntly ignored to know the existence of these films. Whether a family movie, youth film, or thriller, they all struggled the same.
Even high-budget films like Varun Tej’s Matka have faced similar issues. Despite good publicity and significant investment, audiences still didn’t show up to theatres.
This week, Mechanic Rocky, Zebra, and Devakinandana Vasudeva released. One had a 10-20% opening, another 5-10%, and the third nearly zero.
Neither Mechanic Rocky nor Zebra lacked publicity, and both had good casting and budgets. They also offered different storylines.
So why are people not coming to the theaters? Why are the collections so low? The answer could be 'Pushpa 2'.
Pushpa 2 will release in two weeks, and people are saving money for it, with tickets costing 500-600 rupees. Why would they spend on Mechanic Rocky or Zebra now?
Moreover, the audience have spent enough for Diwali releases. So their next option is only 'Pushpa 2' and nothing else in between.
Producers are releasing films without understanding this market reality.
