"So to have won it is just the best feeling in the world. There were times in the series I thought I might be going home."

"The fact that I did it for Wales was amazing, and I had massive support throughout from Wales. I hope I have done them proud."

"When I heard I had won it felt so surreal and I couldn't quite believe it. All my family were there watching me and it was a very emotional moment as Noel (Fielding) announced the win and handed me the trophy and flowers."

"My legs went to jelly and at the same time my daughter came to hug me, and of course it completely floored both of us, it was very funny and we were all laughing. So a lot of happy emotion was flying around."

"Overall, what I learned from the show was to really be myself, I don't need to pretend or mask who I am any more. and to trust and believe in myself."

This year's Channel 4 series, hosted by Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond, put 12 baking enthusiasts through their paces with 30 challenges set over the course of 10 action-packed episodes. During the finale, the contenders were set the task of rustling up perfectly baked scones for their signature test, while an afternoon tea creation presented the last technical challenge of the series.

For the crowning showstopper challenge, the final trio conjured up multi-tiered hanging cakes, envisioned as centre stage masterpieces for a summer garden soiree. Judges were treated to Georgie's delectable elderflower and lemon cake with layers of strawberry and champagne confit complemented by a zesty lemon curd and luxurious elderflower buttercream.

Residing in her countryside Welsh farmhouse along with her family, numerous chickens, ducks, two loyal canines, and a feline friend, Georgie has proudly announced that her newly acquired trophy will enjoy pride of place in the kitchen for all to admire. Georgie is set to reconvene with hosts Jo Brand and Tom Allen, alongside her fellow bakers, for the aftershow, The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, slated to air on Thursday November 28 at 8 pm on Channel 4.
