I'm A Celebrity viewers demand voting overhaul as they spot camp feud
by Mia O'Hare · ChronicleLiveCalls for a format shake-up on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! have been ringing out as host Ant McPartlin steps in to defend the beleaguered contestant, Dean McCullough. After facing an overwhelming majority of the season's trials and delivering underwhelming performances, BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean has unwittingly generated tension between himself and Ant, who playfully ribbed him about his poor showings.
In response to fan outcry over the repetitive selection, Ant implored the audience to give other celebrities a chance to participate. This sentiment resonated with viewers, prompting them to suggest significant changes to the voting system.
A viewer put forward: "They need to change how the voting works so say if you do trial 1 you can't be voted for trial 2 and then they can be voted again on trial 3 so we are not just seeing the same person everyday."
Meanwhile, another complained about the monotony of the trials: "I don't get it because it's not even really entertaining? Like seeing someone scream because they have to stick their arm in a barrel of fish guts is boring after 2 trials.", reports the Mirror.

Additionally, a third suggested trialling a new rule: "I would try a 'no two trials in a row' rule for at least one year. You can always revert it if people aren't keen."
Another reinforced this view, pressing for producer action: "The producers need to listen. If someone does 1 trial make sure they are exempt from the next one! ! " The topic was addressed during Sunday night’s edition of the spin-off, I’m A Celeb.... Unpacked, where Ant hinted at his exasperation with coaching Dean through trial after trial.
When queried by host Joel Dommett, "What do you think about Dean doing the trial again tomorrow? ", Ant's demeanor suggested he might prefer a different outcome.
Ant addressed the audience: "Well, right. Let's all have a serious talk. I'm going to look directly into the camera here. I think it's good to see other faces down there. This is not a personal thing. It's not about Dean. It's about us, just seeing different people down there. I think we want to see different people on the show doing [trials]. Some people are, unfortunately, aren't getting... I'd like to see Barry do a trial. I'd like to see Melvin down there. Or Oti."
Sam Thompson, crowned King of the Jungle for 2023, encouraged fans to vote for their personal favourites. Declan Donnelly then prompted: "We need to mobilise armies of McFly fans, Corrie fans (to vote)."
They all chuckled about needing Facebook votes for Jane Moore. Ant queried, with a sense of bewilderment, "Who is still voting for Dean? I don't get it."
Viewers also took to platform X to express their opinions where one commented: "There are 12 celebrities in the jungle, and you're trying to tell me that people STILL want to see Dean do a trial... ESPECIALLY BY HIMSELF? Well, don't blame me if he says 'I'm a celebrity, get me out of here' in this task tomorrow."
Another voiced agreement: "After all the effort and time gone into setting this up, the backstage team will be fuming if Dean says 'I'm a celebrity, get me out of here! '".
One particularly frustrated fan mentioned they might quit watching: "I'm going to have to stop watching I'm A Celebrity now! Which fools keep voting for Dean to do these trials! Let someone else have a go!"
