Strictly fans convinced they spotted 'bitter' reaction from pro after show events
by Seamus Duff · ChronicleLiveStrictly Come Dancing enthusiasts were left with the impression that one of the professional dancers had a bitter response to the weekend's show events. Saturday saw the remaining contestants head to Blackpool for an extra glamorous episode of the long-standing BBC dance competition.
Broadcasting live from the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, viewers were captivated by a performance from The Pet Shop Boys and watched the celebrities and their dance partners dazzle with extravagant routines. Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and her dance partner Vito Coppola and Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec topped the leaderboard on Saturday night - with both couples scoring 39 points from the judges.
However, EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas wowed the audience with a lavish Jive performance danced to the sound of The Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup and featuring backing dancers dressed as bottles of the tomato-based condiment. But viewers were convinced they could see some sour grapes from professional dancer Jowita Przystał - who is paired in the contest with former The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks.
The duo scored 27 points from the judges for their Cha-cha-cha - and some fans are convinced Jowita was clapping very unenthusiastically when she watched Tasha and Aljaž receive their near perfect scores.
Strictly fans on Reddit were quick to comment on Jowita Przystal's lacklustre applause following Tasha Ghouri's performance, reports the Mirror.
One fan posted: "What was Jowitas half a**ed clap about after Tasha's dance? ", while another added: "The face. She was pissed."
And yet another observed: "So glad I'm not the only one that clocked this lol."
However, it was opera singer Wynne Evans and dance partner Katya Jones who said their goodbyes on Sunday night after a dance off against Gladiator's Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe couldn't save them.
On It Takes Two, a tearful Wynne Evans shared his heartfelt experience, joined by Jamie who declared: "Who'd have thought this man and me would become best mates? It's not going to be the same, but I've got a friend for life. He's amazing this man."
To which Katya stated: "This is what Strictly is about, no one is going to remember the scores or the comments you got. It's the friendships they create on the show and genuine relationships. I'm so glad you had each other."
Following his departure on Sunday night, the Go Compare icon reflected: "It's been wonderful, I've got to say. I feel like it's what Strictly is all about. If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing."
