I'm A Celebrity's Danny Jones 'lied' to ITV bosses as wife confirms he's faked fears
by Sam Elliott-Gibbs · ChronicleLiveDanny Jones' wife has called out the McFly singer for trying to deceive the public about his fears. Despite Danny confessing he was petrified of snakes before entering the I'm A Celebrity jungle, Georgie has dismissed his claims as nonsense, even after his participation in Friday's High Street Of Horrors Bushtucker Trial.
Speaking on the Never Have I Ever podcast, she disclosed that her husband had fibbed to the show's producers about his phobia and shared insights into his game plan. She told host Hannah Cooper: "He's lied, and he said he's scared of snakes. Bulls***. World exclusive: bulls***. So, everyone vote for the tasks that don't involve snakes, please! He's not scared of snakes, but he said he is, that's a double bluff."
She added that while people may think Danny is sincere, he might struggle as the lack of food and sleep takes its toll: "The only problem with Danny is he's not great when he's hungry or tired, and he's going to be hungry and tired."
Georgia revealed she struggled to choose Danny's luxury items for the jungle, admitting he wouldn't have picked them himself. She explained his unusual nightly habit: "This man has never fussed so much over the fact that he can't tape his mouth in the jungle. He tapes his mouth at night. He tapes his mouth. It's meant to have many, many health benefits... It's literally like a piece of gaffer tape. It's like a massive plaster of your lips."
Her remarks followed accusations that Danny was "fooling" I'm a Celebrity viewers by feigning fondness for a divisive campmate, reports the Mirror.
Body language expert Judi James analysed Danny's interactions with Barry McGuigan, suggesting both are "potential leaders" in the camp and noting a significant moment when Danny confronted Barry, indicating a "powerful head-to-head in terms of hierarchy."
While Barry and Danny showed differing approaches towards Dean McCullough—with one being critical and the other supportive—Ms James believes Danny may be "masking some inner lack of patience" with Dean, who caused the camp to lose half of the cupcakes Melvin Odoom won by smuggling contraband tea into the jungle.
In a conversation with Paddy Power Games, she revealed: "The most seismic rift came when Danny tackled Barry. It was a small moment but a powerful head-to-head in terms of hierarchy. These two men are both potential leaders in the camp and Barry only had his leadership wings clipped thanks to his poor performance in the first two tasks."
She further added, "Barry's patience with Dean appeared thinner than that of most of the others. When the others sent Dean off for his Lethal Lab trial, Danny embraced Dean in a limpet hug, but Barry sat away from the group in an act of rejection. When Dean came back celebrating his four stars Barry used his mug as an 'expression shield', appearing to hide his facial expression by sipping from it while the others pretended to celebrate."
