BBC Children In Need 2024 full presenters and line up as annual fundraiser returns
by Ryan Paton · ChronicleLiveBBC Children in Need is all set to return to our screens, with the annual telethon raising funds to support young people across the UK. A stellar line-up of six hosts has been confirmed for the event, which champions an incredibly important cause.
This year is the 44th Children In Need event, with the first one taking place all the way back in 1980. Often referred called Pudsey Bear Day, the annual event sees millions of pounds raised for worthy causes across the nation each year.
Last year, Children In Need raised an amazing £33.5m and the organisers will be hoping to raise even more this year. As usual, celebrities will be taking part in skits and challenges to encourage the public to donate.
Who is hosting Children In Need 2024?
Vernon Kay, fresh from his inspiring Ultramarathon challenge that raised over £6m for last year's appeal, will be hosting the show for the first time. The Radio 2 presenter expressed his excitement about being involved: "I'm truly honoured to be a presenter for BBC Children in Need this year, supporting such an incredible cause.
"Last year's knee-ruining run from Leicester to Bolton was brutal, one of the toughest things I've ever done, so I'm thrilled to be joining you from the comfort of MediaCity this time! Children in Need is such a special charity, changing lives in the most amazing ways, and I couldn't be prouder to be part of this year's big night!".
Joining Vernon on the presenting team is Rochelle Humes, who makes a welcome return as host for the first time since 2019. The former Saturdays star shared her enthusiasm: "Nothing brings the UK together quite like BBC Children in Need and I'm so delighted to be back in the studio this year. I'm always blown away by the generosity and spirit of the night, and it's a wonderful cause so close to my heart. I'm sure there will be many laughs, tears, surprises and a whole heap of inspiration in store for us all on the night".
Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel Giedroyc, Chris Ramsey and Lenny Rush are also set to present the event, which will be broadcast from the BBC studio in MediaCityUK.
