Elvis Costello & The Imposters to revisit “early songs” on 2025 US tour
"You can expect the unexpected and the faithful in equal measure"
by Tom Skinner · NMEElvis Costello has announced a 2025 North American tour, where he’ll delve into his early catalogue. Find all the details below.
The singer-songwriter is due to head out on the road with The Imposters next summer for a run of dates dubbed ‘Radio Soul!’. These follow Costello’s previously confirmed shows with his Attractions/Imposters bandmate Steve Nieve.
For the new gigs, Costello will be joined on stage by the full Imposters line-up alongside guitarist Charlie Sexton.
Kicking off in Seattle on June 12, the forthcoming tour is set to showcase “the early songs of Elvis Costello”. Further performances will take place in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nashville, Miami Beach and other cities throughout that month and into July.
“For any songwriter, it has to be a compliment if people want to hear songs written up to 50 years ago,” Costello explained in a statement.
“You can expect the unexpected and the faithful in equal measure. Don’t forget this show is ‘Performed by Elvis Costello & the Imposters’, an ensemble which includes three people who first recorded this music and two more who bring something entirely new.”

He added: “They are nobody’s tribute band. The Imposters are a living, breathing, swooning, swinging, kicking and screaming rock & roll band who can turn their hands to a pretty ballad when the opportunity arises.”
The setlist will draw from Costello’s first 11 albums – 1977’s ‘My Aim Is True’ to 1986’s ‘Blood & Chocolate’ – while also treating fans to some “other surprises”.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time tomorrow (Friday December 13) – you’ll be able to buy yours here. Alternatively, you can find pre-sale information on Ticketmaster or sign up here.
