Opera singer and Strictly Come Dancing sensation Wynne Evans has disclosed the key to his stunning health transformation.

The face of Go Compare has made some serious lifestyle changes, shedding an impressive seven stone. In a candid chat with Sorted Food on YouTube, he recounted a rather mortifying moment that became his wake-up call.

"I think - this is so embarrassing right, and I've never told anyone this - I went camping, and I sat on a chair, and it just smashed underneath me," he confessed. "So, I thought I'd sit on [another] chair, and that smashed as well and I thought: 'This has to come to an end because I'm smashing chairs left right and centre'."

He then embarked on a journey to better health, reducing his alcohol consumption and saying goodbye to calorie-laden favourites like burgers, bread, and cheese. "A year ago, I was 23 stone," he shared with the podcast.

"I've lost seven stone in the past year. So I had to kind of give up the bread and the burgers and the cheese. I love cheese. I could eat a cheese sandwich while I'm cooking."

His new routine included walking more, cutting out cheese, and sticking to under 2,000 calories per day. He also focused on drinking less.

Now, Wynne has developed a fondness for cauliflower, telling Wales Online with a hint of humour: "Because I've been on a diet and I've lost six stone, I always have cauliflower, cauliflower mash, cauliflower rice, cauliflower and chips, cauliflower curry, everything cauliflower."

Wynne, 52, has been wowing the crowds and judges on this year's Strictly. However, he has also been the subject of unfortunate controversy in recent weeks. When viewers called out a "wandering hand" incident on the show, which saw Katya brush off his hand from her waist, Wynne explained it was a "silly joke" that was misinterpreted.

"I'm absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day," the star told BBC Radio Wales at the time of the incident. "It was a stupid joke that went wrong, okay? We thought it was funny. It wasn't funny."
