Comedian PJ Gallagher welcomed his twins with partner Kelly Doolin in August 2023.

Named Milo and Stevie, the babies were born a few weeks early as Kelly's due date was not until mid-September.

The family recently celebrated their first birthday, and Radio Nova host PJ shared that they are "hitting their milestones" and are happy out.

The comedian presents his radio show alongside Jim McCabe.

He joked that the experience of being a dad gives him an insight into “how hard it is for Jim to deal with me every day – it’s karma."

Speaking to Independent.ie, he said of the twins: “There’s not a bother on them.

"I think it’s gas. People always say, ‘my kids are brilliant and they’re fantastic and the most talented things in the world’."

"They’re hitting their milestones and we’re all alive and, to be honest, I’m taking that as a win.”

Kelly and PJ had initially announced they were expecting back in March 2023, with Kelly joining PJ to discuss their thoughts about parenthood live on air.

At the time, Kelly said PJ had been very reassuring. "I was quite sick during the first trimester and he took very good care of me," she said.

Kelly works as a scientist and met PJ through their mutual love of Bohemian FC.

Touching previously on becoming a father, PJ admitted to Jim that initially he found things "bloody awful."

"I'm traumatised, I don't want to talk about it. I don't like hard things, I like things that are easy, where I can do whatever I want whenever I feel like doing them!"

Speaking on the duo's GloryDaze podcast, he joked: "I haven't had time to even change myself and now you're saying I've to change other people? My God!"

When Jim asked what time PJ had to get up to feed the twins at, he was outraged replying: "What do you mean what time, it’s all the time. It’s endless. It takes 40 minutes to feed one and you put them down and the other one gives a yell and you have to feed them, then you sit down for five minutes until it starts all over again."

"You spend 40 minutes feeding them and then they do that thing babies do and it’s all straight back out. Same thing the second you change them."

PJ and Jim are fronting a very important initiative, and taking place in a naked dip for a very good cause in November.

The radio duo will be among 500 other participants who will be taking a nude swim in the Irish seas next month, "wearing nothing but dickie bows."

The Dickie Dip will take place in Skerries in aid of men’s cancer care at the Mater Hospital.
