RTÉ shares reason why the Late Late Show isn't on this week
by Aine Kenny · RSVP LiveFans of RTÉ's Late Late Show will be left disappointed tonight because they won't get their usual fix of Patrick Kielty and celebrity guests.
The chat show is not airing in its usual 9:35pm slot tonight, instead, viewers will be treated to the 90s classic Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts. The Hugh Grant film will be shown directly after the Nine O'Clock news tonight.
Rugby fans will be pleased with the lack of Late Late, as the show clashed with the Ireland vs New Zealand rugby match tonight, although the match is not going to be broadcast on RTÉ One.

The move had left many fans puzzled, but they needn't worry, as RTÉ have explained the reason behind the show not being broadcast - and it's not because of the rugby like many have suggested!
According to evoke.ie, RTÉ said: "There will be no Late Late Show on Friday 8th November as Patrick and the team record the New Year's Eve special."
We can expect to see Patrick back next Friday night, where he will be joined by a very special guest and one of Ireland's fastest rising stars - Paul Mescal, who is promoting his upcoming and much-anticipated film Gladiator II.
The Kildare native appeared at the film's Irish premiere in Smithfield on Thursday. Also taking place in Smithfield on Thursday was the Paul Mescal lookalike competition, where the winner won €20.
The competition appeared to be an imitation of the recent New York city Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest, where the actor himself showed up to greet fans.
Meanwhile, applications to be in the audience of this year's Late Late Toy Show are now open.
With just over a month until the annual TV event airs, members of the public can apply to be in the audience.
As part of the application, hopefuls will be asked to share their favourite Christmas song.
To apply to be in the audience, you can fill out the questionnaire here.
Because the show is so popular, demand for tickets exceeds supply each year. To make things fair, tickets will be allocated by random selection.
Good luck!
