Strictly's Pete Wicks has opened up on his much-speculated relationship with Maura Higgins after she hinted at a romance between them during her stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
Pete made the comments on the Staying Relevant podcast, which he co-hosts with best pal Sam Thompson, who also presents I'm A Celebrity spin-off show, Unpacked, where he interviewed Maura following her elimination. The pair caught fans up on their lives when Sam accidentally spilled the beans about Pete and Maura's situation, despite earlier claiming that his "loyalty to Pete beats everything".
Pete quipped back: "It does until the leaving interview [with Maura], and you say 'welcome to the family', so I guess that one just sort of slipped out did it? "

Despite Sam's hint, it was Maura who seemed to confirm the whispers of a romantic link during her time in the Australian Jungle as well as in her post-eviction chat on This Morning.
She confessed to presenter Alison Hammond: "You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private, but let's be real, I said it. I can't remember saying it, but I said the words 'I miss him'."
She shared: "I do miss him, like I missed all my friends and family. Honestly, he's been so supportive, honestly. I didn't know if he was still in Strictly and I'm so proud of him, he's proud of me, and I can't wait to see him when I get back."
On an episode of I'm A Celeb's 'Coming Out' that aired last Friday (December 13), Maura said: "If you're missing someone, you're missing someone and it comes out. And I do, I miss him. Yeah, I really do miss him," reports the Mirror.
She was even seen asking her friend Talia if Pete was still in the Strictly. Since returning to the UK after her stint on the ITV show, she has been seen reuniting with Pete and posted a picture on Instagram with friends at the ME hotel, London.
Meanwhile, Pete and his dance partner Jowita Przystal's impressive journey on this year's Strictly Come Dancing ended after they landed in the bottom two with former Love Islander Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec in the semi-final. The former Love Island star won the dance-off, securing her place in the final. Comedian Chris McCausland and pro partner Dianne Buswell went on to win the show.
