Fair City's Carol Foley undergoes surgery after being diagnosed with cancer

Carol panicks about getting a clot, but the nurse calms her down in the hospital ward and tells her she will be okay.

Nora, played by Ruth Hegarty, imagines the worst at home when Tommy reveals that Carol made him executor of her will. Tommy and Ray are stunned when Nora refuses to leave for America so she can be there for Carol.

Elsewhere in Carrigstown, Mairead Casey reassures Dean Dowling that she can stomach a weekly lunch with Tyler Monroe if it keeps her husand Damien safe. However, she struggles to hide her true feelings when Tyler makes a public show of their cordiality in front of Sash Bishop and Sean Cassidy.

Mairead suffers through lunch with Tyler, but when she suggests they drop the facade, he reminds her who has the upper hand. Tyler delights in Mairead’s shock when he reveals that he is living in The Pod now.

Georgie Dennis realises where Fergal Boyle’s insecurities come from when his mother Jacinta, played by Deirdre Donnelly, makes a blatantly homophobic remark. Gar is disgusted when Jacinta suggests that Georgie is trying to turn Fergal gay.

Fergal is relieved when Gar calls Jacinta out for her ridiculous and prejudiced views. Gar broaches the idea that Jacinta’s homophobia is due to the fact her deceased brother, Des, was gay.
