Maura Higgins and Pete Wicks reunite after weeks apart

After spending weeks apart, Maura Higgins and Pete Wicks didn't lose a beat in reuniting post her I'm A Celebrity stint.

Landing at Heathrow, Maura made her way to a London hotel where Pete was quick to join her.

There was no hiding the joy on Maura's face as she shared a selfie surrounded by friends, with Pete appearing a bit sombre in the background. The reunion comes just after Pete's exit from Strictly Come Dancing and Maura's own elimination from I'm A Celebrity.

Feeling proud of each other's efforts, they're finally getting their much-needed catch-up.

The Longford native, glowing from her jungle adventure, expressed her pride in Pete's Strictly performance and hinted at their romantic link during an ITV This Morning interview. Flirting with the idea of a future wedding, Maura welcomed host Alison Hammond to be part of the bridal party – all in jest, of course.

Maura opened up about the experience, saying: "You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private, but let's be real, I said it. I can't remember saying it, but I said the words, 'I miss him'. I do miss him, like I missed all my friends and family.", reports the Mirror.

She added: "Honestly, he's been so supportive, honestly. I didn't know if he was still in Strictly and I'm so proud of him, he's proud of me, and I can't wait to see him when I get back."

The duo have been the subject of romance rumours for some time, and Wicks recently quashed whispers about a potential love affair with his Strictly professional dance partner Jowita Przystal, stating: "We have great chemistry because we've become such good friends."

During her stint on I'm A Celebrity, Higgins mentioned "missing" an unnamed man she had been "seeing since July", adding "he's not an a**hole".

When probed by former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse about her relationship status, Maura responded: "I am but I was seeing someone before I came in but I'm not in a relationship."

Reverend Richard Coles then queried: "Was it exclusive? If I've put you on the spot, sorry!"

Maura hesitated before replying: "I dunno". The model and influencer also revealed that she and Pete had known each other for a long time and that the long-haired star had pursued her persistently.

"Yeah, we've known each other since five years, and never once..." she shared with Oti. "He would always say, "Oh no, like, we are gonna go on a date somewhere.

"And I'd be like, 'We're actually not.' And I was deadly serious, "We're actually not. You're delusional."

Recalling her first date with Pete, Maura said he pulled out all the stops: "We went out for oysters and wine. Yeah, come on. It was super nice."

Hinting at how things are progressing now, she said, "We just dial up 24/7 with each other. We've got the very same humour."

During his stint on Strictly, Pete was all in for Maura, constantly urging fans to support her. He even quipped one time: "I've been George of the Jungle but now it's time to vote for Maura of the Jungle." Before their reality TV stints this autumn, Pete and Maura kept mum about their budding relationship.
