Molly Roberts, also known by her online handle Mollerina, is one of the leading fashion and beauty influencers in the rising wave of Irish TiKTokkers who have been redefining the influencer industry in recent years.

While Instagrammers are still a prime part of the influencer industry, TikTok stars are quick with their content and exude a level of authenticity that fans flock to.

Molly, who is 27 and based in Dublin, shares her life as a fashion and lifestyle content creator with her relatable videos as well as chatty vlogs that have seen her amass a community of 154,000 on TikTok, plus almost 20,000 on Instagram.

Many of her videos focus on fashion, styling and playing dress up with her wardrobe. Here popular fashion series 'Moll Doll' helps her followers to visualise how different items look when paired with different pieces in a fun, faux-interactive format.

For Molly, her style's foundation is built on mixing feminine and masculine and edgier pieces, and what she wears really depends on the day.

"I believe the most important thing is being comfortable in your clothes. I can get overstimulated easily, so as long as I'm comfortable I will feel confident in what I’m wearing," said the creator, who has also been open about her journey with ADHD.

"My outfit can completely change my mood. If my outfit’s not feeling cute, I’m not having a good time, but if my outfit is cute, I'm going to feel great. It puts me in a good mood for the day, and then everybody else will be in a better mood too."

As she has gotten older, she has moved away from wearing things purely to appeal to men - a habit a lot of us fall into when finding ourselves and our style - and now looks to dress in what feels good to her, whether that's a tracksuit or a slinky dress.

"When I was younger, I think I dressed more for the male gaze. I was focused solely on looking hot, and that was it. I didn't care about fabrics or silhouettes; I only cared if my body looked good and if I looked attractive," she mused.

"Now, while that still factors in because you always want to look good, I care more about the fashion overall. I'll wear an oversized jacket even if it doesn't accentuate my figure, because I think it’s cool or it makes me feel good, not just because I look attractive in it."

For those who are also looking formulate their own sense of personal style, Molly advises stepping outside your comfort zone and trying new things - you never know what will feel like 'you.'

"Your personal style is something that evolves with you, and I think it will always change as you grow, have different experiences, and try new things. It has to serve you at the point in life you're at."

"The only way to develop it is to experiment. You might want to start on Pinterest and save anything that inspires you or brings you joy. Then, it’s time to go shopping, have. a look around your local charity shop even and try on similar items."

"See how you feel when you're wearing them—maybe they won't work for you or make you feel the way you want to, but you have to try things on to find out."

"Think about what you have in your wardrobe. What do you gravitate towards all the time? What do you wear already, and why do you like it? Do you like the feel of the fabric? Do you like the way it hangs on your body?"

"All these things factor into what makes up the formula of your personal style. I always like to think: if you were a cartoon character with just one outfit, what would it be? I think that's a fun way to look at it as well."

As for her favourite piece in her wardrobe right now, it's a dupe.

"I have these shoes that I'm wearing to death at the moment. I bought them at Macy's in New York in January, and they're from Steve Madden—actually a Ganni dupe. They're so comfy, chic, and edgy at the same time."

"They elevate every single outfit. Every time I wear them, I get compliments. They just bring so much joy. I always feel good when I'm wearing them."
