Susan was blown away by the honour, even getting emotional when speaking to Patrick.

"It means the world, thank you so much. My kids will be thrilled," she said, "I have my daughter with me tonight, she's here to look after her mammy and she will be delighted."

With tears in her eyes, she added: "That's all I can say, sorry I'm emotional now. Really, thank you so much."

Fellow queens of country Margo and Philomena Begley paid tribute to Susan, with Margo saying: "Last year when I got it I said to Susan, 'You'll be next'. I'm just so proud Susan. I'm happy that you have got this award truly."

"I'm so proud of you Susan, we go back a long way almost 50 years," said Philomena.

Previous inductees to the Late Late Show Country Music Hall of Fame are :

  • Daniel O'Donnell, 2019
  • Philomena Begley, 2020
  • Margo, 2023
  • Declan Nerney, 2023

Viewers were delighted for Susan too, with one person writing on social media: "Well deserved Susan congratulations a great show tonight."

"Good woman Susan, you deserve it, absolutely delighted for you," a second gushed.

A third agreed: "Congratulations Susan good show."

"More joy for Armagh this year. Armagh wins Sam, Susan wins @PatricKielty hall of fame," noted another.

The annual country special is one of the most well loved traditions on the talk show, and last night's show was a hit with viewers as it also featured names like Daniel O'Donnell, Mike Denver, Janet Devlin, Jimmy and Claudia Buckley and more.

A new face on the country music scene made an appearance, as a TikTok star showed off his musical talent. Garron Noone is best known as a comedian and often goes viral on social media for his comedy videos, all of which he signs off by saying, "follow me, I'm delicious". But as it turns out, the Mayo man is quite a talented musician and singer and showed off his vocals while sat next to Margo O'Donnell and Mike Denver on Friday night.
