Maura Higgins' awkward reunion with Love Island ex Curtis Pritchard caught on television
by Katie Francis · RSVP LiveI'm A Celebrity star Maura Higgins and her ex-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard had an uncomfortably awkward reunion three years after their split.
The pair, who met and sparked a romance on Love Island in 2019, dated for nine months before enduring a dramatic split amid rumours of Curtis' infidelity.
And their reunion, much like the start of their relationship, was captured on camera for all to see. Curtis participated in the first series of Love Island Games, a show that reunites former islanders from around the world for another shot at love.

After being voted off, Curtis faced a farewell interview - with none other than his ex, Maura, who was the series social media presenter. In a clip from the reunion, the former couple are seen standing awkwardly as they wait for the interview to commence.
Attempting to break the ice, Curtis enquires about Maura's family, but the conversation quickly stalls after she confirms they're "good."
The official interview then kicks off, with Maura introducing: "Hello everyone I'm now joined by our next Islander to leave the villa, who is the lovely Lisa's couple, Curtis," reports the Mirror.
Both Maura and Curtis share an awkward chuckle, before Maura quips: "Long time no see Curtis," causing her ex to visibly cringe.
Maura didn't hold back and suggested that Curtis was playing games with his partner Lisa Celander during their time together. "You were coupled up with Lisa, but you were clearly getting to know some of the other girls, there was a lot of flirting going on," she pointed out as Curtis looked away.
Curtis confessed he left the villa with "regrets," admitting he should have thought about recoupling with Justine Ndiba. Maura couldn't resist a cheeky dig at Curtis, turning to the camera to declare: "He still has no balls, guys! " To which Curtis responded, gesturing towards Maura, "And she would know! " leaving her in fits of giggles.
"Savage," he added, dramatically acting out a heartbreak.
As Maura continues to entertain viewers with her jungle stint on I'm a Celebrity, viewers are speculating whether she'll avoid another uncomfortable encounter related to her past love life.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to note that boxer Barry McGuigan is also a participant on the show, and Maura previously dated his son, Shane, before she shot to fame on Love Island. The pair first crossed paths at a David Haye vs Tony Bellew boxing rematch in 2018, where Maura was working as a ring girl.
However, viewers are yet to see Maura and Barry discuss the short-lived romance.
