Please Don’t Stop the Music

Daniel O'Donnell has released an incredible new album to mark his four decades in music.

Through The Years – The Very Best Of Daniel O’Donnell is the perfect go-to album for fans both new and old, featuring 42 tracks across his 40-year career plus a bonus live CD of his concert recorded at The Millenium Forum in Derry in 2023.

“My music is all interlinked,” explains Daniel. “There’s a thread running through it. Country, Irish, rock & roll: it all hangs together so that none of it is out of place. If you pull at the thread of my songs, none of it will fall out.”

These 40 songs exemplify how Daniel has an instinct for knowing how to make his music sound just right. Whatever style a song is in, he’s able to give every word in a lyric its own life.

He says: “I don’t try to change a song from its original setting. If it’s been successful, why change it? At the same time, I don’t try to copy the singer who sang it before. If I’m going to be comfortable, I have to sing it my way.”

It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Following a very busy year which has included the release of her latest hit album "Leaving It All Behind" and a bestselling autobiography, Sandy Kelly is set to duet once again with the universally adored country star Willie Nelson.

"The Christmas Song" was recorded in the famed Bradley's Barn more than 30 years ago in 1992 with an entire cast of country music's most renowned players and producers but has remained unheard and unreleased until now.

A number of old tape reels were recently recovered from the studio and restored to reveal this moving rendition of the standard holiday favourite.

First recorded by Nat King Cole way back in 1946, the quintessential Christmas classic know as "The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You)" was written by Mel Tormé and Robert Wells.

Sandy Kelly

Sandy tells RSVP Country: "We went in to record 'Crazy' but Willie was having so much fun we ended up recording four songs, 'Crazy', 'Everytime You Need a Friend', 'Love Can Build A Bridge', and then I said let’s do a Christmas tune and Willie suggested the old Nat King Cole classic 'The Christmas Song' which I’d never sang before but of course I was excited to sing it with him.

"The musicians had all gone home and it was just Willie, Harold, Owen Bradley (Patsy Cline's producer), Charlie Dick (Patsy’s husband) and Bobby Bradley, the engineer in the studio. We made a lot of good music and had a lot of laughs that day.

"I travelled to the studio on Willie’s tour bus, he made me a mug of coffee and we sat and listened to 'Everytime You Need A Friend' (Willie hadn’t heard it before). Willie was an absolute joy to work with and singing with him was a dream. I’m delighted we did 'The Christmas Song' it’s one of the all-time classics."

The Music Man

Gerry Guthrie is back with his now with a brand new release, “Don’t Think Twice”.

The track, which was arranged, recorded and produced by Jonathan Owens at Spout Studios, features the now signature sounds of Gerry and his band, from start to finish, combined with a tempo that is guaranteed to have dancers sloshing in every corner of Ireland and beyond.

Gerry has had an exceptionally busy run for 2024, playing in dancehalls, theatres, at festivals, and appearing on several of the now hugely popular sun music holidays with his many music pals.

He is also currently in the middle of his first concert tour which to date has seen sold out signs at every venue.
