Every Irish contestant who has appeared on I'm a Celebrity and where they are now

As winter rolls around, so does the yearly excitement of the beginning of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

With the creepy insects and scary challenges, what's not to love?

This year is jam packed with Irish contestants with Love Island star Maura Higgins, radio presenter Dean McCullough and boxing promoter Barry McGuigan.

But before these three venture Down Under for the competition, here’s a list of every other Irish star who has appeared on the show.

Fran Cosgrove

The first Irish contestant on I’m a Celeb was in the fourth season of the series twenty years ago and was former Westlife bodyguard Fran Cosgrove.

The series was already a huge phenomenon at this point and Fran finished third overall, not too shabby!

Other celebrities on his season were Joe Pasquale, model Sophie Anderton and the butler of Princess Diana, Paul Burrell.

One year after taking on the jungle, Fran went on to win ITV's Celebrity Love Island the following year, with Late Late's Patrick Kielty hosting the show!

Kian Egan

Ireland went without a contestant on I’m a Celeb for another nine years after Fran’s season, when Westlife’s Kian Egan appeared on the island, where he became the first and only Irish contestant to win the show.

Also on this series in 2013 was EastEnders actress Laila Morse and reality star Joey Essex.

Kian went on to be a judge on The Voice of Ireland for five years and presented Fat Pets-Slimmer of the Year on ITV for nine years.

Nadia Forde

Irish model Nadia Forde, best known for her appearances on the Republic of Telly and her attempt to break into the music and film industries with her TV3 show Nadia Goes to Hollywood, was the next Irish celeb to be on the show.

Unfortunately, the model became the second celebrity to be kicked out of the jungle after surviving two weeks, and in the end motorbike racer Carl Fogarty won the season.

Nadine Coyle

Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle has been an Irish pop culture icon for over 20 years after her passport scandal which sent her backing from Popstars in 2001.

Nadine was the eighth celeb to be sent home, placing her fifth in the competition in the final pre-covid I’m a Celeb while EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa took home the crown that year.

The singer has had a busy year since performing two nights in Dublin in May as part of Girls Aloud's first tour in eleven years, which included Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Tweedy, and Nicola Roberts.

Andrew Maxwell

Joining the Derry-native in 2019 was Dublin native Andrew Maxwell who rose to fame as a comedian in the 1990s on the Irish comedy circuit.

Maxwell is also the narrator for reality TV show Ex On The Beach, which started in 2014.

The comedian didn’t survive long in the jungle, as he was the second star to exit that year.
