The news about the esteemed hair stylist's passing arrives just weeks after he disclosed his fight with incurable cancer, stating he had only weeks left. The hair industry luminary was initially diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2019 but shared in October that the illness had progressed and become terminal.
Trevor's condition deteriorated, leading doctors to suggest chemotherapy might extend his life. Yet, making a resolute choice, he declined the treatment.
Discussing his decision on ITV, he stated: "I can't face any more of that poison."
In a conversation with The Times, he said: "When I asked a nurse if I'd still be here at Christmas, she said, 'We don't know, Trevor.' And that annoyed me. I've got cancer in my body, but not in here [tapping his head]. My brain is my engine and I'll go when I'm ready."
It is known that chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment involving potent drugs that attack cancer cells to hinder their growth and spread.
Trevor shared the symptom that led to discovering his ailment. Recounting the event, he mentioned: "I lost a lot of blood one night and was unusually disturbed so went to hospital. They told me I had bowel cancer and I had a little panic attack. I looked at Carole [his wife] and she looked at me, we were both speechless, didn't know what to say. So I went and had a big gin and tonic."
