Amanda Holden shares husband's cheeky warning ahead of wild night out
by Natalie King, Samantha Masters · DevonLiveAmanda Holden has recalled her wildest Christmas party moments ahead of one tonight – and revealed her husband Chris Hughes' stern warning.
The radio presenter reminisced about her first festive celebration with the Heart FM team that ended with her taking a tumble down some restaurant stairs.
Jason King, also known as JK, joked he was dressed like the Milk Tray man, to which Amanda quipped: "That's good because you probably will be throwing two people over your shoulders to get us out of a restaurant later."
Detailing the embarrassing incident, Amanda said: "I remember my first year at Heart we went for the Christmas party and we went for drinks and I fell down the last three steps of the restaurant, but landed on my knees.
"And, I just put the prayer sign up and said to the waiter, 'thank you so much for a lovely evening', and walked out like nothing had happened. That it how you style it [out], that's it!"
Meanwhile, JK appeared to be bracing himself for the night's festivities, asking: "And this is what I've got in store?"
Continuing the banter, Amanda revealed a conversation with her husband Chris, saying: "I promised my husband," before confessing: "He said, 'don't get too battered Mandy'. I'll do my best."
Yet, hinting she might not hold back as much as promised, she laughed: "It's the season to get battered!"
Amanda also expressed her enthusiasm to kick off the celebrations earlier in the day, teasing that she along with JK and Ashley Roberts would be starting the festivities long before the rest of the team joins in.
The radio host recently revealed another time when her husband had to be firm with her.
In October, she confessed to having already purchased numerous Christmas gifts and expressed a desire to decorate her home well before December.
"Everything's going up in my house on November 15. I might go even earlier," she declared. "And I've finished my Christmas shopping. That's what I told my husband because there's so many packages in my house, he's like 'gosh Mandy, you've got to stop, you're haemorrhaging'.
"And I went 'I've finished my Christmas shopping' and I looked him in the eye when I said it. I've done, I've basically nearly finished it."
