Strictly Come Dancing fans say 'thank you' after nude skit
by John Bett, Lucretia Munro · DevonLiveStrictly Come Dancing fans were left delighted when professional dancer Gorka Marquez ripped off his fitted shirt to reveal his washboard abs.
During a segment in the show, Gorka and Pete Wicks acted out a skit which saw the dancer show off his ripped six pack and fans were not only glued to their screens, but X was inundated with comments praising the big reveal. And while Gorka flaunted his impressive body, the former TOWIE star remained clothed.
Taking to X, one fan wrote: "Thank you to whoever decided THIS was a good idea #scd #strictlycomedancing #strictly." Another person penned: "Those trousers were practically pornographic." Meanwhile a third commented: "What a body Gorka has." A fourth added: "Sometimes the skits are so cringey...not this one - all the awards to whoever suggested this."
Clearly a show-stopping moment another said it was the "Best moment of the night." One person quipped: "Changes handle to Gorkas Arse and six pack !!!" The stars and pro dancers are currently in Blackpool and performed last night at the legendary Blackpool Tower. But it was only a few years ago, Gorka was the victim of a brutal attack.
The dancer's injuries were so grave he ended up losing two teeth after he was reportedly ambushed as he walked to a nightclub along with Aljaz Skorjanec and Neil Jones. In 2016, Gorka wrote on social media: "Thanks for all your kind messages and support about Blackpool. It was a bad experience but I'm feeling better and just want to look forward to the show on Saturday!"
Gorka was targeted in the early hours of the morning as he walked to Flamingo nightclub. A source told The Sun at the time: "Gorka and a few of the other dancers were heading to a nightclub to let their hair down after another brilliant show. All of a sudden this group of local louts came out of nowhere. One of them punched Gorka in the face and broke two of his teeth."
They said: "Gorka was sober, he doesn't drink. This was an entirely random and shocking attack on a group of friends simply trying to enjoy a night out. He wasn't angry, he was just more shaken by the event. They went straight back to the hotel to see if he needed urgent medical care before going back to London for dental surgery."
At the time, the dancer who made his debut that year, was described as a "warm and friendly" person who never gets involved in trouble. He was partnered with EastEnders star Tameka Empson, who plays Kim on the BBC show. A source added: "Gorka's an incredibly passive guy, he wouldn't hurt a fly. He's so upbeat that he won't let an unprovoked attack from a yob ruin his first Strictly in Blackpool."
