Printing certification of Shwe Naing Ngan Publishing Company revoked

According to a statement from the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Information is supervising printing and publishing activities in accordance with the Printing and Publishing Law and its regulations. In doing so, it was found that the publisher, U Maung Maung Hla (Shwe Naing Ngan Literature and Poster Publishing), failed to comply with Section 11 (b) and Section 18 of the Printing and Publishing Enterprise Law. Therefore, the printing license granted to him has been revoked effective November 13, 2024, and the publishing company is hereby notified not to publish or distribute any publication using any type of media or any technology.
The Ministry of Information has recently summoned and warned publishers who incorrectly listed public holidays in calendars published for 2024 and 2025, including U Maung Maung Hla (Shwe Naing Ngan Poster and Literature Publishing), and it is not clear whether the revocation of the publishing license is related to the calendar issue.
The publishers who were informed by the Ministry of Information about incorrect listing of public holidays in some calendars are U Maung Maung Hla (Shwe Naing Ngan Poster and Literature Publishing), U Hla Win (Shwe War Win Literature), U Aung Myo Thant (Aung Myo Literature), U Mohamad Salahudin (Islamic Light House Literature House), U Chit Swe (Myat Thazin Literature), and U Myo Thein (Swe Maha Literature). They have been summoned, warned, and made to sign a written commitment to accurately list public holidays.
Public holidays are not set on November 14, 2024, June 10, September 29, December 4 and 29, 2025, according to the Ministry of Information.
Calendar publishers must publish holidays according to the Myanmar-Rakhine-English standard calendar drawn up by Myanmar Calendar Advisory Group experts under the Department of Fine Arts, Ministry of Religion and Culture, and public holidays issued by the State Administration Council through an order notification, and public holidays in the calendar published by the Ministry of Information, announced the Ministry of Information.
