Govt. host opening ceremony of Tazaungdaing festival at Maravijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw

The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), the Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice-Chairman of SAC, Deputy Prime Minister, Vice-Senior Gen. Soe Win and his wife, Daw Than Than Nwe, Council secretary and wife, Co-secretary and wife, Councilors and their wives, Union Ministers and their wives, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, High-ranking military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence and their wives, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials and pilgrims also visited.
First, the SAC chairman and his wife arrived at the place where the ceremony was to be held. It is reported that they were welcomed by the natives ing lanterns shaped in lotus and the ethnic traditional cultural groups performing U Shwe Roe, Daw Moe dance and playing open-ended drums.
After that, the SAC chairman and his wife cut the ribbon to open the opening ceremony of the Tazaungdaing Lighting Festival with the offering of balloons to the Buddha.
As soon as the ribbon was opened, the SAC chairman and his wife, and those who attended the ceremony watched the release of 500 small hot-air balloons, the performance of fireworks and dancing to the “Myain Myain Sai Sai La Tazaungdaing” song.
After that, the SAC chairman, his wife and members released small hot-air balloons along with those attending the ceremony.
After that, the SAC chairman and his wife offered flowers, water and candles to the Maravijaya Buddha Image. And then they walked around the main square to pay their respects and lit the candles together with those who attended the ceremony.
The Tazaungdaing Lighting Festival will be held from November 13 to 15 in accordance with the traditional culture and traditions and chanting of treatise on the 24 causes of worldly phenomena, reciting religious verses together by prayer groups, offering firecrackers, offering to release the big hot-air balloons and holding the second-time Mathoe Robe Weaving Contest will be held.
In addition, the Buddhist garden is decorated with LED lights and the exhibition and sale of local production, food and consumer goods of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and Myanmar traditional snacks stalls, along with the performance of a drama by the Department of Art and theatrical performances of traditional Burmese dance actor Phoe Chit's troupe will also be held, so the public can come and pay their respects.
