Search underway for group lost on walking track

A police search and rescue team is working to locate a group lost on a North Taieri walking track.

Police received a report at 7pm on Sunday the group had become lost and disorientated on the Chalkies Track, near Whare Flat.

Search and rescue are currently working to locate the group.

A police spokeswoman said they did not believe anyone was injured.
