House near seaside up for sale at just £12,000 - with a big catch
by Steven Smith · BristolLiveOne of Britain’s most affordable homes could sell for just £12,000 - but it comes with a mountain of pigeon poo. The three-bed end terrace home in Blackpool is set to be auctioned off on December 5 this year.
But the buyers of the home on Haig Road, close to the famed seafront, will have to contend with a feral bird infestation that has left it covered in faeces. One marketing picture taken of the property - which cannot be viewed due to its poor condition - shows six pigeons sitting in a bedroom.
While the grim image further appears to show how the birds have carpeted the floors and furniture with inches of their droppings. Other snaps taken of the brick-built dwelling reveal how the fixtures and fittings have been pulled from its walls.
In the living room, a cupboard has been placed up against the bay windows - with further pigeons pictured on a fridge in the kitchen. A mound of building rubbish also fills up the back garden area. Network Auctions, which has listed the property with a guide price of £12,000 to £15,000, says it requires a “complete refurbishment”.
Their description reads: “Facing Haig Road with rear access to the yard via Adrian Street, just back from the seafront and beach. The house requires a strip out and re-fit. No viewings due to internal condition – the property has a pigeon infestation.”
