Hundreds of couples met for the first time on gameshow Blind Date.

There were more than 22 series of the popular ITV show, which was hosted by the legendary Cilla Black for decades.

But while many people who were paired up decided to part ways after their episodes were broadcast, some went on to have relationships that stood the test of time.

And Sue and Alex Tatham are a shining example of this. The pair seemed smitten at first sight and went on to be the first Blind Date couple to get married.

So what are they up to 33 years later? When a YouTuber ran into them in the street recently, he was able to get an insight into their relationship nowadays.

The meetcutesldn YouTube channel asks couples to share stories about how they first met. And the host recently ran into Sue and Alex, who are both now 59-years-old.

Speaking to the camera, Alex told viewers: "We met on television. We met on a TV gameshow... called Blind Date. You can look us up on YouTube and 17.5 million people watched our wedding.

"I mean, let's face it, I could've picked from number 1 and number 3." But affectionately pointing to his wife, Alex said: "This is number 2".

Alex went on to share his favourite thing about his wife, gushing: "She's as beautiful today as she was when I first met her." Sue smiled widely and replied: "He's so kind and he makes me laugh all the time!"

Sharing the secret to making a blind date stand the test of time, Sue urged others to be open and put the work in. She said: "Go into it with an open heart and make the best of it!"
