After tinkering with the Weekly Console Bonus in the UK earlier this year, Microsoft has now made considerable changes to Xbox Game Pass Quests in Australia. According to Microsoft, Xbox Game Pass Quests have been "reimagined" for the region, making them "easier to use" and "possible to earn even more points."

Microsoft detailed the changes in a new Rewards Notes posted on November 5. According to the Rewards team, Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game members can now "dive into four quests: Daily Play, fresh Monthly 4-Pack and 8-Pack challenges, and the return of Weekly Streaks."
Daily Play and Monthly 4-Pack are the usual quests for playing a game for 15 minutes and playing four different Game Pass titles in a month. The 8-Pack task and Weekly Streams are new here. The 8-Pack Quest asks you to play eight different games (for at least 15 minutes each) from the Game Pass library — Microsoft notes the "four games from your 4-Pack count towards the 8-Pack too."
Weekly Streaks, which you may remember racking up in the old Microsoft Rewards App on Xbox, are also making a simplified return for the Australians. Here's how the new Weekly Streaks work, according to Microsoft: "Play for at least five days a week to complete your streak. The more days you play, the more points you earn. Now comes the challenge: maintain your streak week over week to unlock bigger point multipliers. A 2-week streak will earn 2x the base streak points, 3-week streak will earn 3x the base streak points, and 4-week and beyond streak will earn 4x the base streak points. Missed a week? No worries, build it up again from the start."
As these new quests are only available in Australia (which has been confirmed by Xbox's Brenna Duffitt) and we don't have access to them, we can't tell if this change means you'll be able to earn more Microsoft Rewards Points than previous, or if this overhaul has quietly nerfed the number of points you can earn in a month — if you're in Australia, let us know down in the comments! Interestingly with these changes, we have seen multiple reports that the daily task for unlocking an Xbox achievement in a Game Pass game has been removed, as well as the big 1000-point monthly quest.
There's currently no word on whether Microsoft will be rolling out this overhaul to other regions, but if we find out more, we'll update you.
Elsewhere in the world of Microsoft Rewards, users can win $1 million in a new Microsoft Rewards sweepstake.
