Kate Middleton's dad's five-word verdict on Prince William after proposal announcement

After the engagement was publicised, Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, stepped outside their Berkshire home to share their joy. Following the announcement, her father Michael Middleton praised Prince William, stating "we all think he's wonderful."
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr Middleton said: "I would just like to say that Carole and I are absolutely delighted by today's announcement and thrilled at the prospect of a wedding some time next year. As you know Catherine and Prince William have been going out together for quite a number of years which is great for us because we've got to know William really well."

Further adding fond sentiments about Prince William, as reported by the Express, he said, "We all think he's wonderful and we are extremely fond of him."
He also commented on the strength of the couple's relationship: "They make a lovely couple, they're great fun to be with and we've had a lot of laughs together. We wish them every happiness for the future."
Regarding the proposal, it took place during a holiday in Kenya, at a secluded lodge by Lake Rutundu, among friends. The princess described the proposal as a "total shock", whilst William mentioned that marriage had been a topic of discussion for them in the past.
Prince William and Catherine dated for about eight years before getting married at Westminster Abbey in April 2011, six months after the proposal.
