BBC Morning Live star quits day job after announcing romance with co-star
by Jack Wetherill, Mia O'Hare, Isabelle Bates · NottinghamshireLiveBBC Morning Live star, Rebecca Mason, has revealed her decision to leave her 14-year-long career in the police force to focus on her television work. Rebecca, who has been juggling her roles as a detective and TV personality, recently started a relationship with co-star Rav Wilding.
The couple sparked rumours after Rav ended his long-term relationship with Jill Morgan. At the time, Rav stated: "For those asking questions myself and Jill amicably separated last year. Our focus is co-parenting our hugely loved and beautiful daughter."
Rav, a former soldier and officer with both the British Transport Police and Metropolitan Police Service, has been dating Rebecca since July.
Sharing her career news on social media, Rebecca said: "After 14 years as a Police Officer and 10 of those serving as a Detective, I've made the tough decision to step away from the badge and let my career take a new direction."
She added: "Being a police officer has been one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my life-full of challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable memories. But life is too short not to follow your gut and your heart, and right now, I know it's time for a change and a much-needed break.", reports Birmingham Live.
She further stated: "To my incredible colleagues and everyone who supported me-thank you for everything. Here's to new beginnings and following the path that feels right. Who knows...maybe one day DC Mason will be back."
Rav added his thoughts, saying: "Good cops will always "be" cops" accompanied by three blue heart emojis.
