BBC Strictly Come Dancing pro says star 'shouldn't be in the competition' as final nears
by Phoebe Jobling · NottinghamshireLiveFormer Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan has suggested one celebrity 'shouldn't be in the competition' as the tension builds in the popular BBC dance show. As the final of Strictly approaches, with only a few weeks left, competing pairs are vying ardently for the coveted Glitterball trophy.
Last week's showcase at the iconic Blackpool ballroom was crucial for the celebrities and their partners to win the favour of judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Head Judge Shirley Ballas. Unfortunately, opera singer Wynne, along with his dance partner Katya, waved goodbye to the competition after falling short in the dance-off against Montell and Johannes.
Despite being at the lowest rung of the leaderboard with only 27 points—including a paltry 4 from Craig—reality star and podcast host Pete Wicks remains in the running, as he prepares to dance into the 10th week. However, based on betting odds, Pete is seen as likely to exit next, an opinion shared by former Strictly champion Ola Jordan.
Talking to Mecca Bingo, Ola remarked: "I think Pete and Jamie will be in the bottom two. I think Pete's tango isn't going to be bad, but I think people are realising now that he shouldn't be in the competition anymore. Jamie's got the Foxtrot – Foxtrot is very technical, and he might struggle with that."
"I think JB will be safe this weekend. He's got Charleston, so I think it's going to be a really good and fun dance. Then you've got Montell doing the Quickstep, and because Montell was in the bottom two last week, I don't think she'll be in the bottom two this week.", reports the Manchester Evening News.
Grosvenor Sport has placed Pete as the next likely star to leave with odds at 3/4. Ola commented on Pete's Blackpool performance, saying: "I just think with Pete, he's a bit cringy. I'm just worried that they're going to make too much of that, and he will then look back on his time on Strictly and think 'I wish I didn't do that. I wish I did more proper dances.'"
She added, "I think people are realising that he was really bad this week, so it will get to the point where people are going to get bored of all this gyrating of his hips, and it will get to the point, I don't know if it's next week, depending on what he's doing, if he does a really good lovely number, I feel he's going to go because people will think he doesn't need the votes anymore, so maybe that's what's going to happen."
Ola also predicted, "I think it's his time to be in the bottom two. If he finds himself in the bottom two, he's going to go because he is definitely the weakest dancer compared to everyone else."
